New iDirect services on Arabsat 5C (20° E)

NYNEX started new iDirect evolution services on Arabsat 5C (20° East) C-band Satellite for Africa, Middle East and great coverage for Afghanistan

SCPC/DVB-S2 ACM & MF-TDMA/DVB-S2 ACM service offering

Darmstadt – Nynex’s enhanced service offering on Arabsat 5C will allow to better address existing customer bandwidth requirements in Africa, Middle East and Afghanistan, while also helping differentiate its services from competitors to capture new customers. Nynex will use its upgraded network infrastructure to provide leased capacity to Virtual Network Operator (VNO) customers in the oil and gas, military, GSM mobile, and satellite news gathering markets who do not own any telecommunications infrastructure.

Nynex completes succesful upgrade to IDX 3.0 to leverage SCPC return channel technology

Herndon, Va., September 10, 2011 – VT iDirect, Inc. (iDirect), a company of VT Systems Inc. (VT Systems), today announced that Nynex has licensed iDirect’s iDX 3.0 operating software to upgrade its entire global network with SCPC Return Channel and multi-channel demodulation capabilities. The upgrade enables Nynex to provide greater flexibility in bandwidth allocation by combining the advantages of TDMA and SCPC within a single network. Nynex has also expanded its coverage into South America by purchasing a 5IF hub to offer new services. iDirect is a world leader in satellite-based IP communications technology.

Beside our wide range of professional satellite services this year’s showcase is completed with the following products:

1. New iDirect IDX 3.0 features (SCPC/DVB-S2) on all Nynex satellite networks
(W6, T11N, NSS12 KU, NSS12 C-Band)

2. New services on Arabsat 5c and Yahsat 1A which is well designed for Africa and Middle East region incl. Afghanistan and Pakistan.

3. IDX 3.0 ready monitoring tools for iDirect HUBs and remotes.

Nynex signs capacity agreement for the 4° position

The service available by EB4A has been widely used over Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya - and will be available some additional years as nynex signed an extension agreement for this 4° East positioned bird.

After the current EB4A will be retired in late September 2011 the replacement is already in position: W2M will then be repositioned from 16° East to 4° East.

All terminals active with nynex on EB4A currently will automatically stay online during the move and can stay under service the next years.
